APRIL 14, 2008 --- This past week, the Atwood Outlaw loaded his shotgun and headed to the woods of the family farm to do some turkey hunting. After experiencing success on two different occasions, T.J. wound up with two nice gobblers. Both turkeys sported 9 ¾" beards with one turkey having 1 ¼" spurs and the second having double spurs, one pair measuring 1 3/8" and the second pair measuring ¼". Herndon was surprised to learn from his taxidermist that the double spurred bird was extremely rare and was urged to contact the NWTF to research the phenomenon. After his research, Herndon was surprised to learn that there were only around twenty four turkeys ever reported to be killed having double spurs and only two killed sporting triple spurs. The Outlaw's luck hasn't been the greatest on the track here lately but it certainly seems to be up to par in the field.
