"King of the Streets"

April 8, 2024 --- This past weekend T.J. Herndon and a skeleton crew made the pull to Lake City, Florida to compete in the inaugural $10,000 to win King of the Streets event. On Friday night, with 56 drivers on hand to qualify for 30 spots in the feature, Herndon’s pill draw would place him in the sixth group. After qualifying on Friday night, next up was six qualifying heat races which would lock-in the top three finishers to the big show. In the sixth qualifier, Herndon managed to advance from his P-6 starting position to finish P-2 and secure himself a shot at the $10,000 paycheck.

On Saturday evening, as the field took to the track for the 100-lap event, Herndon’s strategy was to save his equipment and ride for the first half of the race expecting a high rate of attrition. Unfortunately, Herndon became a part of that attrition as he was turned sideways in front of the field on lap thirteen by a gentleman aggressively racing as if it was the last lap coming off turn four for the checkers. Herndon brought his car pit-side and the crew removed the nose and although all the damage was cosmetic, Herndon decided to end his night to prevent further damage. As the race concluded, the crew’s assumption on attrition proved to be true as only twelve of the original thirty drivers finished the race. As the checkers flew over the field, It would be Mississippi’s Chad Thrash taking the honors. Following Thrash to the stripe would be Ivendent Lloyd, Haden Moran, Michael Santangelo, Patrick Williams, Devin Walker, Patrick Mennenga, Mike Bresnahan, Trey Bright with Devin Dixon rounding out the top ten. Unfortunately, after post-race technical inspection, P-1 and P-2 were disqualified handing the win to the third-place finisher and shuffling the remaining positions throughout the field. "Wimp Reed IMCA Spring Nationals"

April 1, 2024 --- This past weekend T.J. Herndon, Dale Nelson and the DR Motorsports team made their way to Batesville, Arkansas for the IMCA Spring Nationals two-day event. On Friday night, with 23 drivers on hand, Herndon and Nelson’s pill draw would destine them to compete against each other in the third qualifier. Nelson would advance from a P-4 starting position to finish P-2 and secure a P-7 start in the main event. Herndon advanced from P-5 to finish P-3 and locked up a P-11 starting spot in the 31-lap main later in the night. As the first stock car feature of the weekend took the green flag, both Herndon and Nelson methodically marched toward the front. At the conclusion of the feature, it would be the Atwood Outlaw taking top honors with Dale Nelson finishing P-4 to put both DR Motorsports entries solidly in the top five. Following Herndon to the stripe on night one would be Richie Tosh, Wayne Brooks, Dale Nelson, Hayden Linn, Patrick Linn, Randy Weaver, Kris Lloyd, John Bubbus with Haydan Hartwick rounding out the top ten.

On Saturday evening, with 20 drivers on hand, Herndon would win the second qualifier from a P-3 starting spot and Nelson would get boxed in to finish P-6 after starting P-4 in the third qualifier. In the main event of the evening, Herndon parlayed his outside front row starting spot into his second win of the weekend as his teammate fought his way from deep in the field making his way from P-18 to finish P-9 earning Nelson the Hard Charger award for the night. As Herndon passed under the checkers first for the second night in a row, Randy Weaver out of Little Rock, Arkansas was hot on his trail. Following Weaver would be Patrick Linn, Richie Tosh, Joe Payne, Tony Anglin, Scooter Scruggs, Wayne Brooks, Dale Nelson with Hayden Linn rounding out the top ten. By virtue of carrying the highest point total throughout the weekend, the Atwood Outlaw was crowned champion of the 2024 Wimp Reed IMCA Spring Nationals. "33rd Annual Talladega Ice Bowl"

January 8, 2024 --- This past weekend T.J. Herndon made the decision to take his personal car to the Talladega Short Track for the 33rd running of the Ice Bowl. Herndon continued to tune his car throughout the test sessions eventually laying down a decent qualifying lap which garnered him a P-3 starting spot in the fourth heat. The Atwood Outlaw had an exceptional car in the qualifier. While turning laps a tenth faster than anyone had ran all day, even in time trails, Herndon took the win locking into the main event to start P-4 on Friday. On Friday, Herndon’s luck would come to an end as his car chief noticed his right rear tire going flat on the parade lap before the green. Herndon managed to stay up front for a couple of laps until the first caution of the evening was displayed.

As the field reassumed green flag racing, Herndon began to fade farther and farther back into the field before his tire totally disintegrated causing him to exit the track with a couple of laps remaining. As the checkers waived over the field, it would be Logan Hickerson taking the honors of the evening. Following Hickerson to the stripe would be Booger Brooks, Landen Jackson, Trevor Woodard, Wyatt Hill, Kaleb Vandygriff, Hunter Duncan, Jared Hays, Casey Towell with Kade Langley rounding out the top ten. Herndon had faded to P-20 before ending his night with a DNF. "Magnolia Motor Speedway"

November 6, 2023 --- This past Friday T.J. Herndon made a last minute decision to take his personal car to the Mag for a little test session. Herndon’s first trip back to the Mag since the Spring of 2022 got off to a rocky start. Out of the seventeen drivers on hand for competition, Herndon qualified eleventh. In the 1st heat, Herndon started P-6 and managed to finish P-5 to secure a P-9 starting spot in the night’s feature event. As the main event got underway, it was apparent that the changes Herndon had made were the correct ones as the DR Motorsports sponsored #1 was digging on the bottom and headed to the point. Unfortunately, with only a 15 lap feature, time expired before Herndon had an opportunity to challenge the leaders that had been cruising up front in clean air. As the checkers waived over the field, it would be Alabama’s Logan Bright taking the honors of the evening. Following Bright to the stripe would be Brandon Hill ahead of the Atwood Outlaw advancing to finish P-3 while securing the Hard Charger Award. Following Herndon was Shelby Sheedy, Blake Comer, Lee Ray, Wyatt Parker, Mark Thorne, Shay Knight with Hunter Holloway rounding out the top ten. "3rd Annual Keota Faulkner Memorial Race"

October 30, 2023 --- This past Saturday T.J. Herndon, Dale Nelson and the DR Motorsports team traveled to Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, Tennessee for the 3rd Annual Keota Faulkner Memorial Race. With 43 drivers on hand to vie for one of the 24 starting spots, the night began with three groups of qualifying to set the line-ups in six qualifiers which would lock- in the top three drivers into the night’s main event with the remaining six spots to be determined in two B-mains. As luck would have it, both T.J. and Dale wound up in the same group to qualify. Herndon posted a 14.530 lap to secure the fastest time in group 3 with Nelson laying down a 14.622 for the third fastest in the group behind Clayton Miller at 14.568. By virtue of qualifying, Herndon and Nelson would start side by side on the front row in the third heat of six. With the top three finishers of each qualifier transferring to the main event, Herndon would go on to take the win with Nelson locking into the main event by finishing P-3. Next on tap was a six lap dash among the top six drivers who won their qualifiers to set the top six starting spots in the $5,000 to win feature. In the dash, Herndon parlayed a P-3 starting spot into a P-2 finish to start outside pole in the main event of the evening.

As the green flag waived over the field for the 40 lap event, Herndon immediately found his way to the point where he would lead the first eighteen laps with Clayton Miller hot on his tail. On lap nineteen, as Herndon and Miller started to encounter lapped traffic, Herndon was impeded by a lapped car allowing Miller to advance to the lead as they both continued to lap deep into the field. One of the lapped cars made incidental contact with Herndon’s right front causing the front fender to contact his tire and allow his hood to blow up blocking his view of the track. Luckily, Herndon just had to run a couple of laps in the blind until a car spun and brought out a caution allowing Herndon to have his hood removed. Although the car was a hand full after that point with no air on the nose, the Atwood Outlaw managed to get up on the wheel and finish P-2 in front of a hard charging Hayden Moran. Taking the checkers and the big check would be Kentucky’s Clayton Miller. Following Miller across the stripe would be T.J. Herndon, Hayden Moran, Justin McCree, Matt Markham, Megan Erwin, Oakley Johns, Zac Harris, Keenan Vandygriff with Johnny Stokes rounding out the top ten. Unfortunately, Herndon’s teammate, Dale Nelson had to retire to the pits on lap two when the car that he was trailing hit an infield tire and spun in front of him causing contact which resulted in his radiator being pushed back causing the belts to come off. Nelson most assuredly had a good piece, but circumstances found him the recipient of the Hard Luck Contingency Award. The Atwood Outlaw also received the Topless Contingency Award for being the highest finishing driver without a roof. "29th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic"

October 16, 2023 --- This past weekend, T.J. Herndon and the DR Motorsports team traveled to Meridian, Mississippi for the 29th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic. During the qualifying portion of the event on Friday, Herndon qualified to start P-2 in the fourth heat. With the top four transferring, Herndon went on to finish P-2 is his qualifier locking himself into a P-8 starting spot in the main event on Saturday.

As the field took the green in the 25-lap feature on Saturday afternoon, Herndon found his car to be decent but not good enough to be exceptional. At the end of 25 laps, Herndon had managed to hold his own and finish P-8 despite his car not responding to the changes that he made earlier in the night. When all was said and done, it would be Oakley Johns taking the checkers and the honors. Following Johns to the stripe was Carl Stanley Kilgore, Spencer Hughes, Bryce Sheasby, Lee Ray, Logan Bright, Shelby Sheedy, T.J. Herndon, Cody Chism with Johnny Stokes rounding out the top ten. "Fall Brawl - Donnie Hodges Memorial"

October 9, 2023 --- This past Friday night, T.J. Herndon and the DR Motorsports team made the pull to Clarksville, TN for the $1,282 to win Donnie Hodges Memorial preliminary event. With 21 competitors on hand, Herndon timed in third overall to secure the P-1 starting position in the third qualifier. Herndon went on to win his qualifier and locked up the P-3 starting position in the night’s main event. As the green flag fell on the 20 lap feature, the Atwood Outlaw moved into the P-2 position on lap two and although he had nothing for the leader, he maintained P-2 throughout the contest. As the checkers waived over the field it would be the #19m of Clayton Miller crossing the stripe first ahead of the blue #1 of T.J. Herndon. Following Herndon to the finish line was Bobo McGhee, Jared Hays, Cody Hodges, Zac Harris, Brian Markham, Derrick Tillman, Hunter Blackwell with David Clark rounding out the top ten. Herndon Takes $10,000 Checkers at Batesville’s 28th Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship

October 1, 2023 --- A win that’s been a long time coming came Saturday night for T.J. Herndon. Herndon led the last 29 of 50 laps and banked $10,000 after the long green flag run that ended the 28th annual Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Championship at Batesville Motor Speedway. “I’ve been after this one for 10 or 15 years. It took me a long time,” said Herndon, from Atwood, Tenn., and newly guaranteed a starting spot in the 2024 B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. “I feel like I had two or three taken away from me but we finally got one.”

There was no taking anything from Herndon once he worked his way from fourth starting to the front on lap 22, passing Zane DeVilbiss and outrunning early leader Troy Burkhart the rest of the caution-free distance. “I was just praying ‘Please don’t let the caution come out,’” said Herndon, fully aware of an ailing car ahead of him trying to stay out of the way and get off the oval. “I didn’t want a restart. I had a pretty good lead and the track was cleaned off.”

Burkhart led the first 14 circuits from the pole and crossed the stripe two seconds behind Herndon. DeVilbiss, already familiar with the view from victory lane at Batesville and winner of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature earlier in the evening, ended in third. Burkhart’s son Tathan started 10th and finished fourth; fifth went to Dallon Murty. DeVilbiss was a lapped car ahead of Troy Burkhart and Herndon when lap 19 was scored. The second and final caution of the race came out on the next lap and Herndon had the lead for good when lap 22 went into the books.

He caught the back of the field with eight to go and still won by more than two seconds. “I really didn’t want to get into them too deep,” said Herndon, who’d also won the Sept. 16 weekly feature at Batesville. “I didn’t want to get out of my lane.” “It all worked out.”

Randy Weaver paced home state drivers with his sixth place finish and defending race winner Troy Jerovetz was seventh. Both nights of the Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship were broadcast by IMCA.TV.

Feature results – 1. T.J. Herndon, Atwood, Tenn.; 2. Troy Burkhart, Hays, Kan.; 3. Zane DeVilbiss, Farmington, N.M.; 4. Tathan Burkhart, Hays, Kan.; 5. Dallon Murty, Chelsea, Iowa; 6. Randy Weaver, Little Rock; 7. Troy Jerovetz, Iowa Falls, Iowa; 8. Wayne Brooks, Bald Knob; 9. Richie Tosh, Salado; 10. Cody Smith, Kaufman, Texas; 11. Jeremy Kuykendall, Little Rock; 12. Dale Nelson, Milan, Tenn.; 13. Peyton Taylor, Batesville; 14. Hunter Rasdon, Jonesboro; 15. Tommy New, Dover; 16. Casey Findley, Bryant; 17. Hayden Linn, Little Rock; 18. Joe Payne, Concord; 19. Scooter Scruggs, Little Rock; 20. Tony Anglin, Walnut Ridge; 21. Jim Philpot, Greenwood; 22. Ashton Wilkey, Batesville; 23. Drake Findley, Bryant; 24. Haydan Hartwick, Tumbling Shoals; 25. Brandon Rowland, Nashville; 26. Stephen Morrow, Batesville; 27. Shawn Graham, Shreveport, La.

"Jason Maurer Memorial"

September 25, 2023 --- This past Saturday night, T.J. Herndon, Dale Nelson and the DR Motorsports team ventured across the river to Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN for the $5,000 to win Jason Maurer Memorial event. With 39 competitors on hand and the top two fastest times in each of three groups locking into the main, Herndon qualified second fast time in group 2 to lock-in without having to run a heat race. In the six lap dash between the top six qualifiers to set the front three rows, Herndon started P-5 and advanced to a P-3 to start the main event from the second row inside. Nelson qualified P-4 in group 2 and finished P-3 in the second heat. The P-3 finish locked the #N1 into the main event rolling off P-14 on the grid. As the 50 lapper went green, Herndon immediately assumed the P-2 position behind Clayton Miller as the two checked out on the rest of the field by a full straightaway while encountering lapped traffic before the first caution waved over the field on lap seventeen. After the first caution, many more would follow in the laps ahead. In spite of the excess fuel burn-off due to many caution laps and his tires sealing over late in the race, Herndon managed to maintain his P-2 position until lap 45. With a couple of cautions flying in the last five laps, Herndon allowed a couple of cars around in the closing laps relegating him to a P-4 finish. Nelson managed to finish the night with a P-10 after losing his brakes early on in the run. As the checkers flew over the field, it would be the #19m of Clayton Miller crossing the stripe first for the big check. Following Miller across the line would be Logan Hickerson, Tyler Wood, T.J. Herndon, Keenan Vandygriff, Derrick Tillman, Brian Markham, Kaleb Vandygriff, Hunter Runions with Dale Nelson rounding out the top ten. "Batesville Motor Speedway"

September 18, 2023 --- This past Saturday night, T.J. Herndon, Dale Nelson and the DR Motorsports team ventured to Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Arkansas to test their IMCA stockcars before the $10,000 to win 28th Annual Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship at the end of the month. With fifteen cars on hand, luck of the draw placed both team cars in the same heat with Nelson starting on the pole and Herndon starting P-5. Nelson would go on to win the first qualifier with Herndon finishing P-2. In the stockcar feature, Nelson would once again start on the pole but for some reason, instead of starting P-3, Herndon was shown on the line-up to start mid-pack once again rolling to the green from P-7. As the feature got underway, Herndon methodically worked his way to the front behind the #N1 of Nelson as they pulled away from the third-place contender. Herndon and Nelson were clearly the class of the field on this night as they raced side by side in the closing laps.

Coming to the white flag in turns three and four, Herndon entered the corner on the bottom just inches off the inside barrier with Nelson inches off his right side. As luck would have it, the two were approaching a lapped car entering turn three who refused to yield to the leaders laying hard into the side of Nelson’s car. The contact with the lapped car caused front suspension damage to Nelson’s car and cut down his right front tire resulting in a DNF. Luckily Herndon would make it out of the melee without damage and went on to take the checkers for his seventh win of the 2023 season. Following the Atwood Outlaw to the stripe was Hayden Linn, Randy Weaver, Joe Payne, Scooter Scruggs, Hunter Rasdon, Stephen Morrow, Scott Earl, Kris Lloyd with David Hagler rounding out the top ten. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out Batesville Motor Speedway’s Facebook page as well as their website at www.batesvillemotorspeedway.com.

"Camden Speedway"

September 11, 2023 --- This past Saturday night, T.J. took the DR Motorsports CRUSA car to Camden Speedway’s weekly show to test some suspension changes that he had made earlier in the week. In the second qualifying heat, Herndon started P-3 and finished P-2 securing a P-4 starting position in the feature. As the green flag waved on the feature event, Herndon quickly advanced to P-2 where he would remain for the rest of the night. The handling changes that Herndon had made earlier in the week worked perfectly as far as drivability but the traction that he enjoyed for fastest time during hot laps dissipated in the slick. As the checkered flag waved at the conclusion of the feature, it would be Colby Brandon crossing the stripe first followed closely by the Atwood Outlaw in P-2. Several car lengths back in P-3 would be Zac Harris, Keaton Downing, Devin Baucum, Matthew Hill, William Alan, Marlin Cathey with Wesley Bedwell rounding out the field and Joseph Hamm failing to make the call for the feature. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out Camden Speedway’s Facebook page as well as their website at www.camdenspeedwaytn.com.

“11th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals”

August 21, 2023 --- This past Thursday evening, 123 drivers showed up at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS to throw their helmet in the ring for the 11th Annual running of the Southern Street Stock Nationals. The line-up for each of six qualifying features would be determined by three groups of group qualifying. T.J. Herndon qualified P-3 in group 2 with a qualifying lap of 16.085 which slated him to start P-2 in the second 20 lap qualifying feature. With only the top two cars out of 21 locking into the main event to be ran on Saturday night, Herndon was fortunate enough to hold on and finish P-2 in the qualifier to lock up the P-8 starting spot in the main event. Herndon was the highest qualifying open engine in the field. By locking into the main event early, Herndon and his crew got to take the day off on Friday and enjoy the races from trackside.

With the field set and driver introductions completed on Saturday afternoon, 37 of the best drivers in the street stock world would take the green flag for 50 laps around the clay oval of “The House of Hook”. In spite of being handicapped by the series rules for campaigning an open motor, the “Atwood Outlaw” made gains early on by moving into the top five. Unfortunately, as Herndon rolled the middle in turns 1 & 2 occupying P-4 on lap 16, it appeared that he was suddenly surrounded by rookies as two cars ran side by side up top, three cars entered three wide below him on the bottom. In their attempt to go six wide on lap sixteen, contact was made to Herndon’s left rear and his car was turned sideways in front of the entire field. Luckily, the car sustained no major damage. After going pit side to replace a flat tire, Herndon returned to the rear of the field to mount a late charge. As the laps wound down, Herndon would manage to make it back to a P-15 finish as the checkers waved over the field. Taking the win in the 11th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals would be Hayden Moran followed to the stripe by Kaleb Vandygriff, Cody Chism, Trevor Woodard, Oakley Johns, Dalton Peavy, Bryce Sheasby, Keenan Vandygriff, Carl Kilgore with Tim Gay rounding out the top ten. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out the My Race Pass app, Whynot Motorsports Park’s Facebook page as well as Whynot’s website at www.whynotmotorsportspark.com.

“Paducah International Raceway”

August 14, 2023 --- After a long week getting his DR Motorsports CRUSA ride whipped back into shape for the Southern Street Stock Nationals, T.J. Herndon loaded up his personal car and joined his teammate Dale Nelson on a quick trip to Paducah for their weekly program. In the qualifying portion of the event, Nelson laid down the quickest lap of the evening with a 18.471 and Herndon backing him up with the second quickest with a 18.601 circuit. In the one and only qualifying heat of the evening, Nelson once again bested the field of seven competitors with Herndon finishing P-2. In the feature event of the evening, the DR Motorsports team put on a show from green to checkers. Nelson seized the lead at the drop of the green and led every lap with Herndon seemingly attached to the bumper of the #N-1. As the checkers flew over the field, Nelson would be first to the line taking the win. Following Nelson to the stripe just two tenths of a second back would be his teammate, the Atwood Outlaw. Behind Herndon would be Josh Hartman, Tony Cruse, Mat Hartman, Josh Moreland, with Keaton Downing rounding out the field. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out the My Race Pass app, Paducah International Raceway’s Facebook page as well as PIR’s website at www.paducahracing.com.

“Prelude to the Street Stock Nationals”

August 7, 2023 --- The Mississippi curse continues. This past weekend, T.J. Herndon traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS for their $1,000 to win Prelude to the Nationals event. Herndon put himself behind the eight ball during qualifying by jumping the cushion in turns one and two on both qualifying laps. With 35 drivers on hand to make the 24-car feature, only the top 16 drivers would be able to lock in on time. As luck would have it, Herndon’s qualifying attempt would land him in 17th place and headed to the first B-main. After finishing P-2 in the B-main, Herndon would transfer to the main event rolling to the green flag from P-19. After two back to back cautions in efforts to get a clean start, the field finally completed the first lap on the third attempt. As the field entered turns three and four to complete the second lap, cars began to tangle at the entrance to turn three and Herndon was unfortunately forced into the pile up. The #1 DR Motorsports entry was able to continue but immediately discovered that he had suffered rear suspension damage that would end his night on lap two. Herndon is looking to shake the Mississippi curse soon. After being flat ran over or collected in someone else’s overly aggressive driving on at least six occasions, it brings a whole new appreciation for the 50-lap caution free features at Batesville Motor Speedway in Arkansas. Congratulations to Trey Bright on his Prelude win. Following Bright to the finish line would be Blake Comer, Bryce Sheasby, Logan Bright, Lee Ray, Chad Thrash, Shelby Sheedy, Brandon Hill, Trevor Woodard with Kevin Spears rounding out the top ten. For the latest results from this past weekend, check out the app on My Race Pass at www.myracepass.com.

We would also like to congratulate the Atwood Outlaw’s teammate and owner of DR Motorsports, Dale Nelson, on his convincing victory on Clayhill Motorsports Grand Re-opening on Saturday night!

“Paducah International Raceway”

July 31, 2023 --- This past weekend, T.J. Herndon, Dale Nelson and the DR Motorsports team made their way to Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY to compete in their weekly CRUSA street stock program. During the qualifying portion of the event, the official street stock track record of 18.396 was broken three times with the Atwood Outlaw emerging as the new track record holder with a lap of 17.892. DR Motorsports holds the top two spots in the record book with Herndon’s car owner and teammate Dale Nelson posting the second fastest lap at 18.106. Both Herndon and Nelson would go on to win their respective heat races to set the front row of the night’s feature event. As the green flag waved on the main event, Herndon took the lead coming off turn two with Nelson closely in tow. As the race came to completion, it would be the Atwood Outlaw leading every lap to take the win with Nelson finishing P-2. Following Nelson under the checkers would be Megan Erwin, Colby Brandon, Matt Hartman, Josh Hartman, Keaton Downing, Tony Cruse, Josh Moreland with Kyle Smithson rounding out the top ten. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out the app on My Race Pass, Paducah International Raceway’s Facebook page as well as their website at www.paducahracing.com.

“I-55 Street Stock Shootout”

July 3, 2023 --- This past weekend, T.J. Herndon took the DR Motorsports #1 CRUSA street stock to Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS to join 38 other drivers in the $7,000 to win I-55 Street Stock Shootout. On Friday night during the qualifying portion of the event, Herndon would qualify P-8 in group B. In the 4th heat race, Herndon advanced from a P-4 starting spot to take the win and lock into the main event on Saturday.

After driver introductions and a four wide salute to the fans, the 50 lap main event rolled to the green with the Atwood Outlaw starting P-4 in the field of twenty four drivers. As the race got underway, Herndon pulled alongside the leader on lap two after the leader missed his mark on the entry to turn one. The leader immediately turned left across the nose of Herndon’s car causing a caution, a pile-up as well as steering damage to Herndon’s car. Track officials surprisingly rewarded the driver that caused the caution by allowing him to take the lead on the restart. Herndon managed to maintain an admirable run by staying in the top five well into the race. As Herndon entered turn one running P-3 with 20 laps remaining, the second-place car missed corner entry much like the leader on lap 2. As Herndon maintained his line while executing a pass, once again the outside car cut hard left across the nose of the #1 car. Herndon carried his car to the hot pit and returned to the track to attempt to finish the final 20 laps. Unfortunately, the Atwood Outlaw’s car succumbed to the damage sustained in the two previous incidents which pushed the car’s right front nose down to a point to where it was digging into the track in the turns. After making one lap Herndon made the decision to call it a night rather than being the root cause of a caution himself. At the conclusion of the 50 laps, it would be Hayden Moran taking the win followed by Josh Arabie, Stacy Herron, Noah Daspit, Caiden Jackson, Carl Kilgore IV, Michael Rodrigue, Jaxon Moore, Braiden Keller with Landen Jackson rounding out the top ten. Unfortunately Herndon would record yet another DNF after being ran over in the last three consecutive Ultimate Street Stock events. For the latest news and results from this past weekend, check out the app on My Race Pass, Pike County Speedway’s Facebook page as well as the Mississippi Street Stock Series’ website at www.msstreetstockseries.com.
